This is that retrofit thread we talked about!

So I got around to the second headlight and the news isn't good. Although the black singed area is smaller in the second projector, it is still significant. However, the second projector apears to have an area where the heat caused either separation or burned through the bowl. In talks with TRS and they sound like they are going to replace the bowls, but I'm not sure that this wouldn't happen again...

This may sound like a dumb question, but is there a company that makes HID retrofits for headlights and foglights? I'm looking to buy at least Factory HID's (maybe retro's?) but would love to have HID fogs as well.

No company makes direct HID replacement (like mass produced), but they do sell retros (see Bilinvic) and I know TRS is coming out with direct replacement LED fogs for our trucks in the very near future.

Those of you with OEM ballasts, how did you waterproof them? I was considering masking off part of the center plates and plasti-dipping the edges. That way at least some bare metal is exposed for heat dissipation.
I'm getting close to finishing these things. Turned out a little messier than I'd prefer, but they still look okay. Just need to re-epoxy down one of the oracle halos and seal them back up.
The steel stik took forever to cure. I held the first light in place for 45 min before it cured enough that it wouldn't stray from alignment. The second I gave up on after nearly an hour and propped it up with the steel stik tube and watched it for another 20 minutes before I shut it down. It ended up tweeking slightly out of alignment after I left it. But I can live with that.
I guess I should have done it this summer when it was warmer out. I'm pretty sure the humidity was to blame.

Test fitting to make sure everything works before I finish sealing them up.
The lenses are badly spider webbed. Eventually I'm going to have to find another cheap set of lights to rob the lenses and rear housing from. One of the mounting tabs was cracked and I ended up finishing it off
