Replacing front window tint, do the door panels have to be removed?
I have a 2010 Lariat Supercrew and I'm having a local tint and glass shop replace the front widow tint. I'm kinda paranoid of them having to remove my door panels since it'it's never quite the same after the door panels have been removed, noticeably more rattles and the clips are looser. Can they replace the tint WITHOUT having to take the door panels off? I planned on asking them beforehand but just wanted to see what you guys say in case they try to feed me some lies lol. Also, is there anything I should know, look for, or be aware of if I'm having my front windshield replaced too? Thanks!

any good tint shop will not have to remove the door panels to install or remove tint. if i were doing it myself personally i would remove the panel just to make sure that i got all the glue off along the bottom edge but thats just me.

My main concern from experience is that once bezels, panels, trim, etc have been taken off and put back on....the rattles start to appear and I just absolutely can't take rattles/squeaks in the truck lol! Drives me crazy.

Make it easier on yourself and remove the panel and the inner window seal.

They do not need to remove the door panels at all. Ask if they do micro edging (where they file the tint at the top of the window as opposed to cutting with a blade) as that will give you the best seamless look. Also, any good tint shop will guarantee their work for as long as you own the vehicle

I haven't done this truck yet...but on the last two, the place I go to, did not remove the panels.
The tint was flawless and practically edge to edge. Also it was a couple inches down beyond the weather stripping.
Same as FX-Four said; it was a custom fit pre-printed sheet of tint.
