Stubby looks great and works great where the signal is good. I guesstimate it reduces long range reception by about 40-50%.

Just be careful with the billet antennas as they do not flex at all. Something to keep in mind if driving it through an automatic car wash...

I just ordered myself one.
Fast shipping too.
Does the OEM antenna actually just screw off?

Sure would make getting into my garage easier![/QUOTE]

Like the stock antenna is making it harder to get in the garage? Just put it in drive and place your foot on the pedal on the right hand side above the floorboard. Works for me every time. ; )

I like that the long antenna warns me of low roofs when I'm driving into a parking garage or somewhere else with a low roof. Not sure what people gain from swapping in a stubby other than liking the looks of it.

That's another reason why I always spring for a moonroof on my trucks; so I can peek out and verify I have room to clear a parking garage!

Has nothing to do with Clearance Clarence. Everybody is buying them for the aesthetics. Not sure why ford found it necessary to put the full length antenna on any vehicle anymore. They could wrap that into the same sort of satellite antenna they are using now.
