A good indication is how long their warranty's are. If they say 3 year limited warranty or the like expect it to rust out.

I've got sound clips of my 5.0 with a Borla catback system if you want a link to hear it, let me know. (It's probably to loud for you but they have 2 more less aggressive systems then mine)
Would love to hear it. What do you guys do....purchase the muffler and then have an automotive place install it?

I had a local mechanic do mine since it's easier to do when it's lifted. If you're handy it's easy to do yourself. It's takes about an hour and half to install including taking out the stock exhaust. I'd image all catback systems come with all the necessary hangers and clamps in addition to using any stock ones at least the Borla ones do. Catbacks will not cause you warranty issues and will make you smile each time you start/drive your ride.

Here are some actual sound clips of my system it seems very loud since the camera is pretty much mounted at the tall pipe tips. They have 2 more less aggressive (loud) systems but they all have the distinct same Borla sound.

Here's Borla's video with all their offerings for the F150 5.0L. You can hear the other two less aggressive catbacks if the "ATAK" is to aggressive for your liking.

I would like to do something to the exhaust on my 5.4, but there are so many choices. That is the hardest part about this.

Thanks for the video. That sounds like what I want. Really a good sound without annoying noise in the cab. Do you just order the system online and have it shipped to you? I assume the catback means it is installed right behind the catalytic converter?

Yeah search a few online retailers for your best price and yeah it's from the catalytic converter back. Any modification beyond that point may cause new vehicle warranty issues for yoursel.

If I buy from like amazon or autoanything, will the Borla warranty be any problem? I guess what I'm asking is do you have to purchase from an "authorized" Borla dealer? Where did you get yours from? Thanks for all the help!

Just mail in your warranty card and you'll be fine. I'm in Canada but I got mine from an authorized dealer here. Autoanything should be fine also check Borla's site for details or send a PM/E-mail to autoanything. They use the highest grade stainless steel (not the cheap 409) it won't rust out on you. Good Luck!

Just to confuse the issue further, here is a link to sound clips from Magnaflow.

Let me know what system you decide to go with by sending me a PM. I personally really like the magniflow systems, they will give off a different tone but not much louder while driving around town, when you go to get on it though it really opens up and just sounds great! Again send me a PM and I can get you a quote with forum member pricing.
