Replaced speakers now they dont work
2010 f150 regular cab. I replaced the stock integrated radio with an Alpine ilx007. This worked fine. The stock speakers did not sound great so I replaced them with kickers 6x8. I looked up the wiring diagram and connected them correctly.
Now there is no sound. I have replaced head units and speakers on more trucks than I can remember. Never had this happen. I have checked all the settings. Everything seems correct.
Also may not be related but just started happening, dome and cargo light will not turn off. Unless I turn the dome light switch to the off position. The red lock symbol is on the dash. Intermittently the dash lights won't come on.
I have been searching on line I haven't seen anyone else complaining about this
Any ideas?

First thing I thought also. I have gone over everything several times even confirmed the wiring with my local dealer. Made sure all the connections are good nothing pinched or grounding. With this truck being different ( no radio power wire) I had hoped that someone here would know something.

This one is frustrating me I'm thinking about just going to buy a small amp and run a new wires. From all the postings that I've read it seems like those factory wires have problems anyway.

You have a short somewhere/wires crossed. I'd hook the factory radio back up and see if that fixes it. If it does, then go back and start over with the new radio.
