Default Rusting... Really!!??

Anyone else run into the bracket under their fronts seat rusting like this? This is bad!

Not galvanized metal. A little bit of moisture in the air will rust that.

I would worry about that, its just light surface rust.

When I took the dash apart in my duramax I found the same thing.

I wont worry about it... but it sure surprised the hell out of me when I discovered it. Just didn't know if anyone else found the same thing.

Good thing is its completely hidden under the seat and can see it anyway unless I try

I just had the truck Krown'd but maybe I'll spritz a bit of rustoleum on the seat frame too as I'm sure it'll see lots of moisture this winter. Thanks for the heads up

Yeah that will do that. I bought an 02 s-10 new, took the radio out 3 days later to put an aftermarket one in, and it was rusty there on the dash frame.

I had the same problem with my dakota, i've seen it on other brands, I don't think its anything to worry about
