Regear with limited slip?
I want to regear from 3.31s to 4.10s I have 34 inch tires and tow a lot. 3.31 aren't all that great for towing.
What would I be taking on by switching to a limited slip or just regear to 4.10s?

do both at the same time, with 34" tires you need at least 4.10 gears. there are alot of options for lsd, and other lockers better than LS. i assume you are doing this for towing on a 2wd truck.

I figured if I'm doing a regear might as well throw this in as well. What brands should I go for the Lsd I know a lot of people like Yukon for gears but I don't know much about Lsd

Any other brands? And is the same for the front I'm guessing no but I've never done anything with these before.
It looks like the Detroit comes with everything besides large gear

Alright I think I'm getting this figured out, I buy 4.10 gears front and rear as well as buying the truetrac for the read.
Pull the rear gear assembly and bolt the new gears onto the truetrac and place all of that back into the truck. Then same for the front but just put new gears onto the current differential and place that back inside. I am not going to attempt this I just like to know the process before anything happens.

Have you installed gears before?
It takes precision to install the correctly.
Good call on not doing an LSD in front.
They can cause some strange handeling when in 4wd.
There is a thread about this.

I don't plan on doing it myself I just like to know how and what I need to buy. When I was looking at the LSDs they don't have ring gears on them but they say their gear ration on them 3.73 came up a lot. Do I need to buy a ring and pinion in the same gear ration as the LSD or what do I need?
so I need two sets of these http://www.jegs.com/i/Richmond-Gear/...oductId=744484
and one http://www.summitracing.com/search/p...-location/rear
but these are 28 and 31 spline I am not sure what that means either?
