Default One mirror cap painted, one not...what are my options?

Apparently the previous owner of my 2011 Lariat had to replace a mirror, so I have one silver capped mirror and one black. What is my best option to match them and how would I do it?

If I wanted to paint the silver one black, how do I get the cap off?

You have to take the mirror partially apart to change the caps, leave the mirrors on the truck. I changed mine from black to chrome. Video how to's on you tube.

Search. I don't remember exactly what link. Move the mirror glass all the way down and in, you will see some plastic clips where the plastic back of the glass is held on, once you get that out you will see 2 screws at the top, remove those and the cap falls off.

You could just plasti dip it for now. Wouldn't be able to tell unless you were specifically looking for it.

+1 Plasti dip. Cheap and maybe an hour's worth of your time. Seems ideal since you mentioned making the painted cap black anyway.

If you wanted to get chrome caps, those are easy to find and inexpensive.

The good thing about the black plastidip is that it matches the OEM plastic perfectly.
