Question Rear Window Factory Tint

Can I use Goo Gone to peel the remaining scotch tape from the rear window w/o harming the tint?

I assume so, but want to make sure since there might be no "do overs".

Thank You!

What do you mean scotch tape? And the factory tint is baked into the glass so yes you can.

I think he means the tape reside left over from having the paper/temp license plate taped to the rear window ...

and the answer is yes, you can use Goo-Gone to remove it. The windows on our truck that are factory-tinted have the tint IN the glass ... it's NOT an applied film. Just be careful of the defroster wires on the rear window (if you have them), as they ARE applied to the inside face of the glass. Other than that, go to town w/ the Goo-Gone. You will be fine.

The dealer used it for my temp tag. Thanks!

DONT USE A RAZOR ON THE INSIDE. You will damage the defrost wires if you have a rear slider.

Quite aware of the defroster grid, I didn't get all caveman on it, just sprayed, then proceeded to remove the tape remnants with care. It really don't take much thought to realize possible damage, especially for a Ford tech.

I did not realize you were a tech. Was trying to help a brother out so $1000 outta pocket wasn't lost due to being preventable.
