Check out this thread. Kung has the correct part # that your dealer can run through the system and get your back glass replaced.

It is covered under the Ford PremiumCARE ESP as long as they enter it as the rear defroster not the back glass. If you do not have a Ford PremiumCARE ESP, it might not be covered. Call Ford ESP support to work with them direct.

If it is not covered, call your local auto glass place, you might be able to get it replaced at a fraction of the cost the dealership quoted you.

i have Premium ESP, but the stealership is saying its not covered. They insist the part number to replace is the full sliding window assembly and its not covered.

With this truck and everything I have paid and dealt with (not just this), Ford will never get another penny from me - they very clearly took it to heart when they abandoned the Quality is Job #1 slogan.

Keep us posted on how it goes, bigwilly11189!

soaringfalcon is right, DBCooper. You can contact Ford Protect Prior Approval directly for ESP coverage questions at 800-321-7790 (option 1).

Also, please send me a PM with your name, phone number, VIN, and servicing dealer; I'll check out additional avenues of assistance.

It's covered. In fact, I checked all of the ESP plans. All of them list "rear heated glass" on there.

The part to replace IS in fact the full sliding glass assembly, but there are two part #'s. The part # for the heated back glass - the one covered by the ESP plans - is 342006H. (The same # without the H is the part # for the UNHEATED back glass.)

If they still give you the runaround after that, hell, if you want, I'll be glad to give them the # to my dealership so they can talk to the service writer there.

I appreciate the help and reassurance. The problem is at this point that the dealership I went is now apparently unwilling to work with me. I contacted the manager of the entire service dept and explained the situation and asked for his help. The response I got was "the part that we entered is what needs to be replaced, i can't put in any other part as ford will deny the claim"..... and then in not so many words, have a nice day

Yes, I know, it is time to find a new dealer.
