Default Rear Window Defroster Repair Question

Quick question for those who got their rear slider replaced, did your dealer happen to have it in stock and fix same day, or did they have to order it. I'm guessing order. I'm scheduled for Monday drop off and I asked if they can check to see if the part is in stock and I was told it could be a few different parts so they can't check . I'm guessing they'll have to order it which makes this even more of a PITA. Why I never bring my truck to a dealership.

when I took mine in, it was on a two week back-order, so I had to wait for the part to come in.

Are they actually upgrading these or just replacing them with the same piece of crap?

probably with the same piece of crap. I'm assuming the 2015+ rear windows aren't the same dimensions.

I brought the truck in for diagnosis. They had to order window so I picked up the truck. Few days later window is in so I dropped off the truck. Day later they called and said the window they received was broken. Pick up truck. Drop off truck week later and they install new glass. Did not reinstall rear seat correctly. Glass was filthy.

I doubt they'll have the glass in stock

My new one was a different part number than the one they took out, And the heating element leads on the new glass look to be thinner than the old one.
My guess is that they changed the design of the heating element, but that is only a guess.

And people wonder why they hate going to get their car serviced, and it gives the Ford name a bad rap; I doubt you'd get that at say Lexus or BMW where you can buy a car for the same price as our trucks and still get 100x better service.

My rear window had to be ordered but it came in 2 business day later. They had it installed in 2 hours and it came with a 2 year full warranty from ford even though I had this one covered on my aftermarket warranty.

Dropped it off yesterday and my new rear window is supposed to be in today. They said they need to have the auto glass company install it....interesting. Anyone else experience that?
