rear view mirror removal help
Does anyone know how to remove the rear view mirror off the windshield of a 2011 f150 Lariat?
I tried inserting a flat screw driver on the bottom and pulling up on the bracket but no luck. I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks

I'll be honest, even window guys will tell you that Ford is the absolute worst. In fact Monday, a glass company rep told me that they use the "special tool" and still expect it to crack 50% of the time. He told me this after he paid 433.78 to have mine replaced after one of his techs tore the glass out while trying to remove my mirror. I read every thread I could find and tried every tool I could to get mine out with no luck. Sorry I am little help, but I feel your frustration as I went through the same thing last weekend.

The attached YouTube video will help. Very simple to remove.

You guys were right. Tried to remove my mirror and the windshield cracked. Now I will hacksaw the mirror off and have windshield repaired if the cracks get bigger.
Thanks Ford. Every other mirror I took off went nice and easy but not yours.

That youtube video is now private so i can't view it. It seems there are 2 to 3 different types of mirror attachment out there, mine looks like this:
View from underneath
I've seen a few videos saying, use a screwdriver (or sorts) to pry from the top, others are saying push one underneath and pry outward and upward. However, none of them appear to have the two little tabs i can see here, does anyone have any advise?
This video has several examples, but again, i'm not sure if they match mine.
