Default 2011 Interior Lighting and Harness Problem

My 2011 Ecoboost XLT Screw when I open my doors my interior dome lights front or rear do not turn on. Nor do the map lights turn on when pressed. It was like this when I bought it in August. I have tried the slide adjuster dial and that brightens and dims my dash just fine but holding it doesn't turn on the dome lights. My rear light above the bed works. I've checked the number 12 fuse, it's fine, also replaced it, and swapped it with a working good one, no change. I also bought completely new bulbs for the map lights front and rear and that didn't work either. I don't think it's the police interceptor thing as my exterior lights flash and honks when I lock it.

Not sure where to go from this.

I have no warranty and I'm at 180k so not trying to take it to a dealer. I don't really mind the no lights when it's dark it's my fiancee who wants the lights at night. Hence I've been fine without them for the last few months.

Thanks and please let me know.

The dark mode still allows you to turn them on manually, that's not it. So, you probably have a wiring problem to trace.

Okay, I started tracing the wires, went through the overhead console, through the head liner, down the rear seats, under the passenger Ford sill plate and found this.

I traced it to the driver side sill plate/splits to the middle of the car and then up under the driver side footwell.

Does this wiring harness have any connections or do I need to replace the entire harness. Where does it connect up under the driver foot well? It seems like this is the main harness inside the cab. Any thoughts or is this not my problem?

OMG, that is ugly. You might be able to pull it apart and repair each wire.

So far at first inspection it seems like they are too corroded and don't want to come apart, I couldn't even tell some of the colors I had to undo some of the electrical tape to see if it even had the wire I was looking for.

Trying to look through Fords parts diagrams but not finding the harness I need as I probably need to replace the whole harness, another section is corroded but not this bad.

The harness covers the entire cab,I think. It's a big H shape if you had one out, laying on the floor.

That is horrible news. There was a thread here about someone who replaced the whole thing because of upgrading or damage like yours, I forget exactly.

I would cut both sides back to good wire, then solder and heat shrink a new section of wire in.
