They can't even tell me if it will be this month or year. I have custom tunes on my ranger and it was a PIA to finally get them right and I don't want to really mess with that on my new one. I had a ton of options with the sct x4, is it that much better to have a custom tune? I just want the programmer to work out of the box like advertised.
So the good news is that a custom tune will address this. If you want a safe tune, there are plenty to choose from that are as or more safe than sct.

Default SCT Tuner Issues

I could get custom tunes but shouldn't have to, I was perfectly happy with the one it had. If anyone is using this tuner with the canned tunes and it works DON'T update it. Is anyone else waiting for them to release a update?
I'm having the same issues. They told me the same thing too. BUT...I have a bigger issue. My tuner turns off and on and now I can get it to power up from the OBD port. I've sent it back twice and they tell me they can't find anything wrong. So I asked them to help me trouble shoot my truck and they act like they could care less. Does anyone have any suggestions? Comments?

First thing to check would be making sure you are getting power to your OBII port and check your fuses to make sure one isn't blown.

I assume the X4 powers up fine when plugged into a computer with the USB cord?

Been running MPT w/1000 miles. No issues, great power, great drivability. When a place returns calls and emails as fast as they do, they earn my trust and business. If i didnt want MPT, I prob woulda used Stage 3 and 5star tunes for their good customer service.

They replaced the cable. It was working intermittently. The first time I sent it back it was doing what it is now, NOTHING. When I got it back the first time, it worked for a few days then started resetting itself like the power was cut off and then back on. So I sent it back again. This time it's doing the same as the first time. It will power up with the USB cable in the truck also. Not sure how to test for intermittent power to the OBD2.

if its slamming into second gear....you do know this is a TUNER... correct? you can modify the transmission settings yourself..

maybe go into the trans settings and turn the line pressure down from 1-2 shift and see if that helps

canned tunes are safe and generic.. they dont work 100% the same on every truck..that is why custom is better

I'm lost on one thing.. you do not trust custom tunes because they are written by some one you don't know? But you trust canned tunes from some one you don't know? Odd

I would first try then to see if there is another device you can connect to the OBII port ( like a cheap code reader or something ) and see if that powers up consistently or if intermittant like the SCT. That will tell you right there if it' something tuner or vehicle related.
