Default RCL Rebates

I was just at the dealer yesterday and they said I qualify for an additional $2500 in rebates for having a current Ford Edge lease.

RCL Renewal: $1500
Retail RCL Renewal: $1000

They told me that I would have to term the lease and give back the Edge to get these rebates. Is that true? The Edge has three months left on it and I would like to keep it for those three months. Any help would be appreciated.

Would it be possible to pay the remaining payments then buy the Ford Edge but still receive the rebates?

I think the dealer would have to answer that one...

I cannot find anything on the Web that talks about the rules of this rebate.

The dealer told me I could buy out the lease or turn it in and still receive the discounts.
