What you are getting is what sounds like a buddy of mine is getting and just living with for the level of his F150. The electronic power steering is arcing just ever so slightly from the changed geometry in a turn. Why everyone isn't getting it I don't know, but it is an issue with the levels. It won't harm anything but the only way to fix it is to remove the level.

Okay so now that you guys pointed me to suspension.. I tried throwing it in 4x4 just to see what would happen (in a parking lot)

And what do you know... sound is gone.. for now.

Cv axles. Again, I recommend taking the level out.

Okay if thats what it takes to get the sound fixed then I will have to do that.

Im loving this lift though its going to suck to see it go. Oil changes without needing ramps made this my favorite mod.

You won't have to remove it forever. Just take it out temporarily, if the noise persists it'll be easier for the dealer to diagnose.

Odds are the changing angles and the IWE leaking are to blame. Warranty probably gone with kit in it. When U put the 4X4 in operation the axles were locke into the hubs. Maybe activation and deactivation a few time will smooth the thing out. Or just off road it hard some. Wear the tight lil shafts splines some.

Interesting read thanks for posting that. Now its got me curious about the Cai I installed and maybe its not providing the proper vacuum (doesnt seem to seal to well on hood when it closes).

The rattle has been gone for longer than ive ever gotten it to go away before so im going to wait and see if it comes back.

It sounds like the IWE's since it goes away when you shift into 4x4.

Could be the solenoid, IWE's, or a vacuum leak somewhere.

Leave the truck running, and unhook the vacuum line from the IWE's one at a time. You can hear the hubs click when they lock back in. If one side does not make any noise, then that might be the culprit. On my '05, I could tell there was very little vacuum on the driver side just by putting my finger on the end of the line.

U know manual lock out hubs would click when they weren't fully locked out an full time would screech when the s-type joints in the front drive shaft went bad ( that little nipple with needle bearings in it )
U may have a tiny hole in a line or the hose simply slipped partly off. Do U have a hand vacuum pump to test them. Harbor Freight has a decent price on them.
