From following this thread, I believe it has to do if you have the off road package with hill decent control. It seems a lot of people with hill decent control have the 4th wire already

I have a 2014 FX4 and it was plug and play, took about 10 minutes to install and required no extra wire to be run for marker lamps.

That makes me so mad that you have a 2014 FX4 almost exactly like mine, yet my Raptor third brake light wasn't plug-and-play.

Looks like our trucks are pretty close in options. Fx4--402a--MFT/with nav, roof, decent...
I had the fourth wire.

Mine is a 2014 FX4 with hill decent control and I don't have the fourth wire... Maybe it's where it was manufactured. Mine was manufactured in the Ks. City Mo. Plant...

My truck is from Ks. City , what colour is your headliner. Mine is black ,I'm thinking it has to do with that. Do all Raptors have black interiors, that's probably it.

Mine has the 402A package, but I don't have a sunroof. I have Nav and 20s as the only other options. Mine was built in Kansas City.

All FX4s and Raptors have black interiors/headliners so that can't be it.

The FX4s withe the Appearance Package(mine being a 2013) have an all black interior. What colour is your headliner.
