Very Happy with Fuse 27 Relocation Results
With the help of the members on this forum I did a Fuse 27 relocation last Friday. I have 2013 with a 3.7 engine and 95K miles on it.
I just took the truck for a test drive and much to my surprise it is idling way smoother than it has since I bought it with 45K on it. The minifuse was just showing a little bit of discoloration and the truck used to give an occasional shudder when it was idling but now I can hardly feel it running. Has anybody else had this result? There were no codes thrown prior to the relocation. What a great result.

Fuse 27 stalled my motor when I was doing 70 on the highway. Luckily it started back up before I even had time to pull off the road. My fuse was charred beyond recognition. The relocation works great. No issues since then. I can't say it made any improvement in drive-ability since my only issue was the one time it stalled.

Assuming you unhooked the battery to perform this job, you reset the KAM. That may have something to do with the idle improvement.

Well I have recently replaced tha battery and that did not improve or effect the idle. The real test will be seeing if the intermittent 'shudder' at idle returns. If it does then I guess I'll have to admit that I'm just imagining things. If not then I think that it's fair to assume that the fuse relocation has affected the idle. I don't drive the truck very much in the city. Most of it's miles have come from long highway drive so it will take a while to properly access the condition.

I've never considered it, but I guess that burnt contacts could cause intermittent operation, loss of voltage/increased resistance/low voltage to fuel pump, and in the case of the fuel pump, even a couple of milliseconds of inoperation, could cause a drop in fuel pressure and drivability issues.

Well I took my truck on a trip and I was disappionted to find that it does still have the very ocassional faint 'shudder' when it's idling. So maybe the fuse 27 relocation didn't change the smoothness of the idle after all and it's all in my head. It wouldn't be the first time but I swear it's never idled better and now it goes so fast that I got a warning for speeding!

There's an idle relearn you could do. The air sensors could need cleaning, not sure which the 3.7 has. Throttle cleaning could help. Replacing plugs (if old) or re-gapping them could affect idle. Getting deeper would be checking fuel trims and other sensor data, that is getting into skilled technician work.

Thanks Spiky. Changing the plugs is the next maintenance item I've got to do. I bought the truck with 45k miles on it but I knew that those were hard miles so I've been catching up with deferred maintenance. The idle 'shudder' is very rare and mild. It only lasts for 2 - 3 seconds then the idle returns to its usual silky smoothness. Overall the truck has been a great vehicle for us.

We talk about the 3.5 and 5.0 using up plugs fast, I'm not sure that applies to the 3.7. But, you're at mileage where that is probably part of your problem if they are original.
