Raptor exhaust question
I have a FX4 6.2L with regular exhaust.
Will the factory Raptor exhaust make a difference with sound or performance?
I'm looking for cold hard facts as I can get one for $100 new. I don't care about twin tips or looks just after better sound and performance.

Not even worth installing. Delete your trucks resonator and gain the same sound a resonator deleted Raptor does. Its still an undersized system... I hear stock Raptors daily as there are tons of the things around here.... hell one of oil company paid renta cop clowns uses one for work
... they sound like air wooshing like my fx4 did lol. Not to mention the Raptors still neck to 2.5" between the resonator and muffler if you kept the resonator on. I have the 3.5" mbrp on my fx4s 6.2 and don't regret it.

No. For $100 I'd buy a Borla ProXS muffler, have it welded and delete the resonator. It will sound better.
There's nothing special about the Raptor stock exhaust, not for $100.

Very true. I started with a Flowmaster 40 and it was sweet but a bit too rowdy. Had to cut and re weld the Borla. Going the cheap route, you gotta be sure as you are committed unless you want to spend $$$ restoring.

I've already removed the factory resonator, personally I think it did squat or very little.
I want a little more rumble but don't want it to sound like a race car!
I was in my buddies truck with the Roush exhaust but it's to loud and very droney in the cab.

My resonator is different I agree.... but where the slip joint in the piping is the reduction. The Raptor I was under did the exact same thing. I checked the Raptor boards to see if I am mistaken and the inlet piping to the muffler is smaller than 3". The Raptor has a different resonator which i know but the pipe still necks down.
