So the other day I was checking out some posts about this thing called Gott's mod and I decided to look into it myself... Well, I'm not impressed with the idea, but I thought of another one. I decided to take the snorkel that they said to remove to do said mod. I looked at it and came up with my own idea that to me sounded much more beneficial... Why stop at removing the snorkel (which is a necessity if you like keeping water out of your engine) and instead create a ram air and convert it to a sort of cold/ram air intake.
Now, first thing I did was to remove the air box assembly and take out the snorkel. Then I cut the funneled end of the snorkel down to past the first set if holes and placed it back in the box. I then clamped a section of spectre flex intake piping to the snorkel and ran it down under the headlight and in front of the radiator. After that I used a 4" 45 degree elbow and a 4-3" adaptor clamp to connect the elbow to the pipe. Once this was done I put the elbow in the void in the front bumper beside my license plate holder. It fits snuggly and I haven't used any mounting hardware on it yet but I have drove and it isn't going anywhere.
I will post pictures, and I know this may sound like the most rigged up system ever... However it actually looks pretty cool and its just an experiment. I'm gonna polish it up a little bit tomorrow so that it's a little better looking. I'm just posting to see what ideas people have on it... So go ahead and post away and I'll get the pictures up. When driving it, it felt better on the hwy I mean it could be all in my head I know that happens. It's probably nothing noticeable anyway. Just try to be nice I did this out of pure boredom on a day off.

Good idea. I don't like that you can see the red hose though.
I wonder if you can find a rectangular HVAC register box that you could paint flat black and have fill the entire opening and pull from either side of the plate. Filling the entire opening would make the mod nearly invisible.
Not exactly this, but something similar:

Well you really can't see it as easy as you can in the photos and yes I was thinking something along those lines. I'm still working on it trying to get it looking good and see how it does as well... Thinking about getting a tuner just not sure which route to go...

Oh guaranteed I'm already thinking about doing that and replacing the flex pipe with 3" or 4" tubing. I have a mig welder too so the box would be easy... I think it would look ba!!!
