Rear Axle Swap 09 into 11
Hey all So I have a feeling my rear diff may be getting to fade into the ether so I'm looking for a backup to swap out so I can rebuild it. I have a 2011 Platinum with Max Tow 3.5L EB and the B6 3.73 9.75 LS rear axle. I found a 2009 Lariat with the B6 Axle Code and I'm wondering if it's a direct swap or if I need to find something out of an 11 or newer. I've heard something about the electronics being different but I'm unsure of what electronics besides the speed sensors are there that could cause issues. If possible, would it be possible to maybe switch an L6 9.75 E-Locker out of an 09 into it and just run the E-Lock to a switched 12v source. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm preparing to make the guy an offer but I'd rather not waste the money if it's not gonna work or involve a bunch of modding. Thanks in advance

You don't need to swap out that rear end, you're making it too complicated
Many of us are over 200k miles on stock ring and pinions.
What I would do is check the gear condition, and if they're good, which I bet they are, replace the carrier bearings, and axle seals, and have the carbon fiber clutch discs installed, and call it
a day for another 100k miles. It'll cost your a few hundred bucks for labor and be well worth it.
