As was explained to me, that pigtail/plug can "jiggle" loose, or unplug completely. They knew what I was talking about before I dropped it off, ran their test (tug plug, if just loose, re-seat and check again, if it comes off replace harness)
They replaced mine either way, and say it should resolve the issue.

This was a random problem for us anyway, but I will keep an eye out for it and report back if any problems arise.

Hope you can have your dealer look into this, and make it work for you.

So did that address the problem?
My truck just hit 3500 miles, 1.5 months new and is doing the same thing now. I assumed it was a temperature thing more than a volt thing to save battery power.

Same here, no indicator saved my battery. I found out the hard way the next morning before work with a dead battery.

I am having the same issue going to take it to the dealer to see what they say, its so annoying to see the battery saver come on every time i shut the truck off, brand new 13 xlt with less than 5000 miles shouldnt be doing this.

Well I can't say for certain it has solved my issue, as the issue was very random if/when it would happen.

That said, it hasn't happened since it was at the dealer, so I would like to assume (I know never a good idea) that they did fix it.
Considering there was "service announcement" they knew about before I even dropped it off, it seems Ford knows about the problem, you just have to bring it in and have it performed.

That's encouraging to hear at least. Thanks.

well thought I'd check but a good firm tug on the brown connector on the alternator did not pull it out. There was a tiny bit of side-side wiggle, but nothing that would conceivably cause a poor connection.

I just took mine in because I had two check engine lights flash up for "Turbo inlet failure"....The did a flash and replaced the battery, said that it was most likely causing the issue.

Prior to this I was having the exact same thing happen with the power saving indicator no matter how long the truck had been driven for. So far everything is working better with the flash and battery.

I was at ~8900 miles

I asked my dealership, I was told it been seen with many of the vehicles on their lot, not only F-150's. I said it was a problem, it should not happen. But no one there thought it was an issue. Don't make sense to me. I just said when truck craps out, I will call roadside and then deal with it...

5000 kms on truck....

Hey gang,

If you're experiencing this issue, your next step should be to make an appointment at your dealership for an inspection. I'm always happy to do what I can to help as well; just send me your information in a PM and we'll get started. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and preferred servicing dealership.

Thanks!

Crystal
