Hmm, being able to see at night, yeah, that's a joke...Yeah, go fight real crime and get scrutinized and snow ball into riots...
5% in our Mustang, and we have to roll down the windows at night in our neighborhood because we can't see and don't want to run over a kid...

The way things go today, you could get shot for reaching for a piece of gum if the police think your reaching for something else. You best let that man see what's going on.

I'm a 30 year old officer in PA and have been for 11 years and I have NEVER issued a citation for window tint. Typically it is a tool used to conduct a stop when other criminal activity is suspected such as a likely drug dealer or user who does nothing aside from ruining a neighborhood.
That being said I'd assume you dealt with some self righteous officer who thinks tickets are going to save the world. Also you could have been caught up in some state or otherwise granted zero tolerance enforcement of equipment violations which like speeding details does happen sometimes. Because contrary to popular belief a traffic citation does not fund police departments or towns in PA anyway. In PA a conviction said and done will yield a city 12.50 lol so a regular guy should just be issued a written or verbal warning.
If you can afford it or the chance my advice would be to set up a hearing. Judges make reasonable decision in most cases and if you were to say something along the lines of....your honor I was not aware of this violation as I assumed that buying the vehicle from a dealer would certainly be in totally legal condition. I would appreciated leniency in your decision so that I may correct the problem in a civil matter with the dealer from where I bought my truck. And if it's a go leave the tint be and carry on or make an appeal to county court as most places will not send and officer to make OT for a equipment violation worth 12.50. Good luck

You have to turn eventually, and we don't have headlights on the side of the car.... Sure you can see fine out the windshield, but my neighborhood is rather dark and seeing around turns is not easy.

Kickin it
I have 5% on every window, and a 10" 5% eyebrow, illegal as all hell. And I have never been harassed and always pass inspection. I've never had a car with legal tint actually haha

Five-0 Ret.
It is a good possibility that this could happen. I've seen it happen many times during my career. Make sure you have some type of documentation that the tint has been removed if you go to court. If you decide to pay and move on there is no points on your license as it's not a moving violation. That's the way it is in North Carolina. You can call the Magistrates Office in your county to make sure it's the same where you live. Good luck.

You should be ashamed for saying that!
Would you want a job that you need to walk up on a car day or night that has windows that are tinted so you could not see through them.
You would have no idea what is going on inside that car or truck!
These people are doing a job most people wouldn't want and at the pay they make.
You sir are the loser!
