Sharp looking truck.

Now the 5.4 w/6speed is an all together different performing engine. The 6 speed really wakes the 5.4 up.
If you want that v8 rumble either of those combos won't disappoint.
Then again there is the 6.2. No convincing necessary.
This is the same 5.0 they are putting in the new mustangs correct?

Ecoboost - Overall better in towing. Faster off the line. Very quiet for a truck. Remove MPG potential from get go since there is little if any. Many are concerned with longevity of the turbos.

6.2 - Guzzler. Huge price premium. Much harder to find outside of the Raptor. Being phased out for the 2015.
Thanks for this. Easiest way to really look at all the engines I guess.

same base engine yes, but with some alterations for the truck platform.

Ultimately you can't go wrong with any of them.

I had the 5.0L it was a great performer, but traded for an EcoBoost due to oil consumption and engine knock/ tick concerns.

My 5.0 got better mpg's , but it had hwy gears and was an Scab 2wd .vs my now much heavier and longer 157", Screw, 3.73 EcoBoost.

I'm 35 years old, and for some reason I am totally done with and have outgrown having to have exhaust sound. Call me crazy or weird, I've modified the exhaust noise on almost everything I've owned in the past, but feel it cheapens a $52k truck, so I'm glad the Eco is whisper quiet these days.

X2 on the mid 30's and enjoyment of a quiet truck. It's kind of fun to blow the high schoolers off the line with their loud pipes also, haha. I like to hunt and find that the low noise level is a benefit there as well.

As another 35 year old I have to agree, I prefer the noise to come from the speakers in the truck than the tailpipe. Next thing you know I'm gonna be yelling at kids to get off my lawn, I must be getting old...

We will see. The ecoboost that I am looking at is probably the nicest out of everything I have looked at so I think I could deal with just keeping the exhaust stock.

This is probably the only video where the exhaust has sounded some what decent to me.

You have one of the best trucks on this forum. I would hate to see you sell it for one of the new trucks.

If all of this ends up working out, I promise I will not disappoint. I will be going all out on this. The entire suspension will be powdercoated, American Force might be scene, and maybe some other stuff. Not trying to think of too much just in case this doesn't work out.
