Default Pros & Cons

Alright everyone I have a little bit of an issue. My truck is no longer a practical vehicle for my family. I may be getting rid of it next week for a used 2013 GMC Yukon, loaded. I know it's a GMC but you all have to admit they are nice vehicles. The Yukon has 21,000 miles on it with every option except for maybe a sunroof and navigation. I haven't had a chance to see it in person, I will on Monday. One of the dealers sales guys took it on vacation with him this week. I have been putting a pros and cons list for the Yukon and so far my pros out weigh my cons. I have been told by the dealership where I bought my truck that I have about $15k in equity in my truck with the $22k that I owe. As soon as I get a picture of the Yukon I will show but it's white with light grey leather and aluminum wheels. Help me with my pros and cons and please share your serious opinions. Thanks- Mudweiser

If you need the seating space because the family has out grown the F150 that is the only pro you need. No matter what other cons there are, the financial side of a trade etc, family first. If it's a storage and space issue, slap a camper shell on that truck and keep hauling.

What are the needs/duties of the vehicle? Will you be towing or NEED the bed? Depending on what you're towing (if you are), the Yukon can probably handle it. If it's an interior space issue, then the Yukon is the way to go. Do you and your family need a truck? If so, then stick with the F150.

I think this is the answer to your question:
My truck is no longer a practical vehicle for my family.
Seems that's all the con you need to move on from the F150. If the vehicle isn't practical for your needs, why keep it.....other than it being awesome of course haha.

Lets see your list ? We looked at all kinds of SUVs before we bought our supercrew. No SUV came close to the backseat room the f150 has. Far as storage the bed has more room than the back of any SUV .

Some people just need interior space for families or other obligations. The F150 has a large interior but if your needs move you to a Yukon then you just gotta do what you gotta do. The Yukon is a nice ride for sure.

Agreed. The only way I could see the Yukon winning the interior room battle would be if it has a 3rd row and need the actual seating spaces. Then you lose some cargo room. If you only need 4-5 seats though, I think the F150 with maybe a cap or bed cover will allow for WAY more cargo space. It's impossible for us to answer your question without more info though.

so your gonna lose $7k on your truck, then spend money tax, tags, title on a used Yukon with 21k miles and it is still being driven as a loaner to a dealer guy, I see how guys drive rental vehicles. Now your still gonna spend more $$ just to get into the Yukon. Well it seems money is no object to you because this is a bad money decision. If I needed a third row I would buy an Odessey or Sienna(with DVD player). There better mileage, more comfortable and practical family vehicles and great for travel/trips and the automatic sliding side doors and rear tailgate make these awesome vehicles for the family. There lightening quick with the V6's. That's me though. Yukon is a gas gussler. The ultimate family vehicles are the minvans, this is what I would buy over any Yukon or large SUV. JMHO!!

Pros:
Luggage stays dry (Can't afford a cap and my tonneau cover sucks!)
Two 60lbs Labrador Retrievers have more room
Mileage will be a little better
Can tow my dads boat (23' Jones Brothers Center Console)
Heated seat backs
Wifey will be more comfortable driving
No turbo lag
still customizable
Bose Sound System

Cons:
Less Engine Power
Can't Haul Dirt, Rocks, Etc. (We have a 1000 acre farm here in WV with plenty of vehicles that can be borrowed to haul things.)

this is what I have so far.

Thanks for being honest! I will never drive a minivan! lol. The Yukon has a flip down DVD player in the back seat and I'm sure with my Uncle helping me out we can work a deal. It seems like he gets something different from the dealer ever six months. Even with the Yukon having 21K miles on it its still 14K less than my truck and is two years newer.

The other issue I have to keep in mind is I'm 6'6" and 265lbs. I don't fit comfortably in all vehicles.
