Default Problem Shifting Out Of Park

I want to run this by the group before I took it into the dealer. I have a 2012 FX2 SCREW with Ecoboost. Truck has 76,000 miles in it. I haven't had any issues in the past. Wether I am on a slope or flat ground, and it doesn't matter if right when I crank or if I shift into park then back into drive. It is a center console shift. When I go to shift, the button will stick and not go in, and it will notallow the truck to come out of park. This has been going on for about a month. After a few cuss word and jiggling or just allowing it to sit for a second, the truck will shift out of park. I am trying to get an idea if this is major, and an approximate fix price. Thanks in advance.

Bad switch that tells the computer the brake pedal is pressed and can unlock the shift selector?

I had a similar issue on my 07 Lariat, center shift. I could never explain it, it happened at random intervals, and the only fix I found was to shift to neutral first, let the struck settle foot easing up on brake, then shift to park. I always thought it was because I put it into park with to much pressure on the pawl.

Check your tail lights/ brakes. Or yeah bad switch on brake pedal. Brake light are wired to that switch. Happen to my friends mustang and heard another guy on here. Possible

(In my 99 Pontiac it was a bad shift solenoid). Didn't have the brake sensor like ford
