Hill Descent Control Fault/ Service AdvanceTrac
About a month ago on my 13 F150 Screw FX4 I started seeing the warning pop up saying "Hill Descent Control Fault and another one saying Service AdvanceTrac. After acknowledging both lights, the light for the traction control fault would come on. When this happens, the lane change feature of the turn signals would work, but the turn signals would not stay on. The dealership could pull the code but it didn't really tell them any certain thing was bad. I had to take it back and they spent a large part of a day deciding that the steering rack needed replacing. They ordered the part, and a week later it came in. The dealership replaced the steering rack today. I will try to update in a couple weeks to let everyone know if the problem is corrected.

That's an interesting solution to a cryptic problem. Looking forward to the update.

I hope your truck is all good now. I had the AdvanceTrac warning about 6 months after I bought my truck and sure enough before I even had a chance to take it in I heard a loud bang and lost steering. The dealer said it was a faulty rack and pinion. They replaced it and it's been fine ever since.

These 2 warnings came up after I hit a concrete barricade on a icy highway a few months ago...
Note that, according to Ford, my Lariat does NOT have Hill Descent Control
anyway, drove the rest of the way (400 miles), turned the truck off and back on and the warnings went away, no issues since...

I had this once last winter after playing and sliding in a field.
One of the sensors likely got some **** on it and reset once the truck was restarted. Never seen it again since.
Could be part of the EPAS system too I have heard this before if the EPAS loses it's position.

Just wanted everyone to know, it has been about a month since the dealership replaced the steering rack and I am happy to report that the lights have not come on since!
