Possible upgrade to the OEM subwoofer

I did the cheap polyfil mod to my Sony sub box and noticed a difference in bass response. The suggested replacement Pioneer sub sounds (pardon the expression) like a worthwhile upgrade which can be had from online discounters for $70-80 shipped. If so, did you guys retain the polyfil, use the original material provided or none at all? Was an adapter cable needed or direct fit to OEM harness?

I left the poly fill in. As for the wiring, all that I needed to do was cut the four spade connecters off and strip back a little of the wire and install ( positive to positive and negative to negative).

Thanks go to the OP (Billr) and to Ricer X for their comments & suggestions.
Just ordered "brand new, mfr warranty, factory sealed" from Amazon seller for $72.55 shipped which seems a nice discount from MSRP. I now see on Pioneer's website that this sub uses posts for connection vs terminals. Retaining the added polyfil makes sense, so I'll do likewise...

Once get the sub installed you will have to plug the bolt hole that holds down the sub magnet. I used some black silicone to seal the same bolt in place.
