I purchased updated maps a couple of month back (for the first time) - it came with a Software Update DVD as well which you install first.

Ever since then, my reception is awful - I know it's not the station, as it comes in clear on wife's 2010 Challenger, son's 2004 Civic and my Makita radio in my shop.

When I contacted them (Navteq) their response was "we don't support the software - only sell it - you have to take it to your dealer".

Which I'm sure the dealer will NOT check/fix it for free.

Unscrew it from where?

From the base, you should be able to unscrew it using your fingers, if it's too tight, you might need a open end wrench to help.

If the threads are too corroded, try cleaning them before putting the antenna back in.

Tried that, no corrosion, put a small dab of dielectric grease, put it back on, same issue - fades in and out of stereo.

For kicks, looked at the settings, unchecked "auto presets", then rechecked that, it went through and grabbed the stations - voila, my fav station coming in clean as a bell!

Do any of you have HD radio? Could you be switching from analog to digital at times?

Hey guys. Same issue with my 2010 Platinum. Started when I replaced battery. Power was cut off to radio while I had it disconnected from the battery. When I put the new battery on, FM reception was 75% of what it used to be. Stations that were crystal clear now have mild static. Stations that were distant but listenable are now 100% static. Maybe losing power to the radio changed something? Can someone tell me what settings you changed to fix it? Are you talking about settings in the radio touchscreen menu options?

Well, after a couple of days the problem seems to have mysteriously gone away. I can't say why, but reception is as good as new. The only thing I "did" was to "Auto Program" presets as suggested by another guy. I have no idea if that worked or how, but my FM reception works again.
