for Eco_Punisher's setup it was similar to my own in that I used the 12v outlet in the center console. As Sharper4 mentioned, he tapped into the light for the shifter to function the same as rest of the interior truck lights. At this point, I haven't introduced any relay methodologies.

If there's enough interest, I could begin building DIY kits for sale. I'm very close to having this setup perfected.

This was the basic plan with only change being the cup holder LED's being the optical tubing instead of a strip:

kmaximus how did you add the cup holder lights to your current setup to be able to change the colors? Doesn't your current setup use mini USB connections to plug them in? I believe you are using the led glow kit if I read that correctly from your original post on lighting.

Currently I do have them plugged into my Million Mini kit from LED Glow. I drilled a few holes in the casing that cover the led strip with the mini usb connector. shrink wrapped/electrical tape and some custom plastic framing and I have the tubing connected to the strip.

I'm currently working on building my own RGB kit from scratch that will do the same job as the million mini but for the cup holder specifically use bulbs instead of the strip to create a better light distribution through the tubing and cuts down on clutter.

Looks great so far. Still confused on if you guys have gotten the RGB set up to work...or have y'all just settled on single color?

Zman22, did you see the video I posted. I was using the RGB controller from my million mini kit....probably adding to the confusion is that my controller is still damaged so some of the colors don't show up correctly. That isn't an issue with the tubing or LED's being used...I just haven't bought a new controller

Oh, that RGB tubing didn't come with its own controller... I guess that's where I'm confused... I have the same million color kit as you do, except mine is the full one, not the mini

id be interested in one.. the only thing that has stopped me besides not having the time is that i want to have a dimable kit.. alot of ambient lighting kits have a bold light output in the truck, whereas i would prefer more of a glow

check post 83, it has the picture of the mini 3 light strip that fits quite nicely in the caverns of the center console

Also in that post, I mentioned I modified and created a frame that attached the tubing to the mini strip. To expand on that, I removed the clear casing drilled a few holes and fed the tubing so both ends rest on the SMD LEDs on the strip. Then strink wrapped to help direct light.

as I complete the tubing setup, I'm gonna move away from the LED Glow kit (since I can't add RGB bulbs to it) and build one that will be RGB, remote or switched and have some expansion for footwell lights.

thanks, my first ambient lighting setup in the truck had a dimming feature and that's something I do miss with the LEDGlow kit. The kit I'm looking at now had dimming, along with all the other current flading/flashing/etc.

btw, totally dig your Ipad setup that is some seriously awesome stuff.....
