My 2.2mm replacement came in the mail today so keeping with the same install path, I replaced the .9mm with the 2.2 by using clear packing tape that I wrapped around the tube and secured it on the back side of the chrome trim.

I will say running the 2.2 was a little more difficult and not as pliable as the .9 but the light output is greater and well worth it. This wasn't an issue with the .9 as the end cap was very tiny, but on the 2.2 the end cap created a bump that made it not as seamless when putting the chrome piece back on. I have this part where I can see and is unnoticeable when it is glowing.

Glad to see the 2.2 works. Just to confirm, you need 2ft of 2.2mm, an inverter and a 12v plug?
Is there somewhere under the console that would be easy to tie into for power at key on or when the dash lights come on?

That's correct on the supplies. I'm not sure on what to tap into, I do remember reading a thread where someone tapped into something down there so their 1 led per cup holder turned on/off as they turned the key. I want to say it was the power wire for the shifter light. Ill see if I can locate that thread...
