any tips on reducing the inverter's high pitch sound? I need to remove the console to see if I can hide it somewhere better.

I reduced the sound on mine by adjusting the dimmer switch for the instrument lights. The brighter it is set to the higher the sound is.

Yeah yanki01, that looks great!

This pretty much explains the wine in detail:

In the video he basically recommends moving the inverter to a spot where you can't here it.....

Might be worth a shot to try some ferrite cores to defuse the EMI. I used some of them for my headrest dvd player install, I had EMI leaking from the power wire to the FM transmitter and this cured that.....

Radio shack sales a bunch of different sizes:

when I was using the elwire, i used the 12v plug in inverter and didn't experience any wine, I only started to notice it when I bought one of the direct wire versions of the inverter...but also at that time I began working on the led/glow tube version of this mod and didn't spend alot of time troubleshooting the inverter ont the el wire.

quick search from Yahoo answers may be worth the read:

thanks, I may do what that user did and wrap it in carpet padding with duct tape. did you see my video? it's almost like current is running through my cup holder ring. is that normal?

Who knew your truck could be a musical instrument! yeah, that's a new one, I can only guess that since the elwire and the chrome trim are touching it's creating a conduit path for the wine and when you apply your hand it's distorting that conduit? Or it's the flux capacitor!

So you guys said the 2.2 el wire worked without having to dremel it out?
