Default Polishing 22" Limited Wheels

Hey Guys,

was wondering what you guys are using to make these limited wheels shine. I know they are a bit of a weird finish. it's not chrome nor is it brushed. it's kinda right in the middle. Looking for some input and some pictures of the finished wheel would be great too.

The split 6-spoke right?
If my memory is correct, they are polished aluminum WITH a clear coat. Treat it like paint. They should be similar in finish to my Platinum wheels. The texture in the aluminum you cannot do anything about, but the fine blemishes in the clear coat you can.

I clay bar'ed mine.
Used compound and polish with the Mother's PowerCone.
Followed by a good sealant/wax.
Hand wash and hit 'em with a spray wax to finish them off.

They'll never shine like chrome, but you can keep them pretty clean with some regular touches.

Yea i figured they are clear coated. I have been using chemical Guys wheel guard and it works great but it doesn't give it the shine. Last time around i used Wolfgang gloss sealant 3.0 on the wheels and man they looked great! problem is, a bottle is $40. Id rather use that on paint. I purchased a bottle of meguars 26 yellow wax. Worked great on paint, figured why not wheels. It's priced right as well. I'll be trying it out next weekend.

Figured i'd ask if others have had luck with different products.

I've just been washing and then wiping down with a micro fiber cloth. A wax might help the ease of cleaning but as said above, sadly, you can't get much more of a shine or polished chrome look out of them. I would still be interested in other peoples results though...

Hi, I have a 2014 Platinum 4x2 Eco and recently purchased a set of the 22" Limited 2014 wheels.
They sure look great and not many 22" Limited wheels seen in my area making it real sweet

Mine are "not" clear coated as you can us aluminum polish and see the black oxide while applying.

I'm using Blue Magic metal polish cream and it does a very nice job on the wheels.
Then I put a wax to protect the wheels after using the Blue Magic.

Purchased at Advance Auto online for the discount they offer making price lower than walking in.

I cam across this video/product and ordered both thru ebay.
This is really something if it works like it does on the bottom of a soda can.
Can't wait to try this out it's;

Master Formula Metal Gloss + Sealer

^I am not sure if that is the right product for wheels that are clear coated like Platinum wheels. I have always used high quality clays and waxes on my cleared wheels, treating them like paint. I cannot speak about the limited wheels because I do not have a set.

That guy is a good salesman though...

Same style finish on my old audi tt wheels. I took aircraft paint stripper in a spray can and stripped the clear coat off, hosed off the goop, then hand polished them till they looked like chrome. Use hand and eye protection, also well ventilated area or outside.

When done polishing put a good wax on them and boooooom, enjoy

As mentioned earlier my recently purchased 2014 22" Limited Wheels are not clear coated.
Don't know if the 2013 Limiteds' are clear coated but not on mine.
Once I give it a test on my Limited Wheels I'll get back and post results.

Sure hope it works as good as on the soda can bottom
