Platinum vs Lariat?

Throw a pair of Amp Research power steps on the Lariat and there isn't much of a price difference. Its the same people audience, the same demographic.

And I stated that they were not.
You've already lost the argument.

You challenged my claim and invited me to go to Ford's site and check build prices. And so I did just that and confirmed that you're wrong: there isn't a $4-5K price difference between the Lariats and Platinums as you claimed.
With this post I'll find out if you really are over it.

I originally went looking for a Lariat, but the bleach blonde wood interior pieces made me want to vomit.
Plus I love the power running boards, steel grey on charcoal interior, grille, wheels, bumpers, trim, and interior "ambient" lighting.
To be honest, it didn't hurt that I see 8-10 (or more) Lariats for every 1 Platinum on the road.

I hear that. But it also isn't really my style of truck either. There are stigma's (good or bad) with each trim level when you get up there. King Ranch (country), Limited (Street DD office worker), HD (I wouldn't buy a Harley bike so wouldn't drive the truck), Platinum (Individual that uses a truck for a truck but still like the creature comforts), Lariat is kind of the cross breed anymore between what people think trucks should be used for and what they are becoming in the urban environments. My 2¢
I have a feeling I will get flamed for saying that.

I had to look and hate to put this thread further off topic but. Sean had the Canadian Ford compare site listed above. I just looked at the US site and it appears that in the US on 2011 F150's when comparing the FX4 and Limited neither offer the rain sensing wipers. The Canadian site only offers this option on the Platinum.
Rain sensing wipers! "Free" health care! WFT! Makes me wonder how they determine what options you get depending on where you live.
Sorry I am done:

Well I was not going to say anything.......but I agree with Platinum Dawg. I too have a 2011 Platinum. I do pull a 20' enclosed trailer but, I don't haul all that much. I loved the truck when I saw it, I could afford it so I bought it. It has everything I want and need in a truck. If you can't handle that then you don't even need to be on this or any other forum.
