Default Platinum owners, How is your leather holding up?

I bought a 14 Platinum on APR 1. It currently has 700 miles on it and I have noticed the sides of the seat are starting to show signs of wrinkling. I am going to start conditioning them a lot more because of it. I am not sure what is going on, because I only weigh about 175lbs and I use care to not slide across the seat bolsters. My 08 FX4 leather wrinkled badly with only 36,000 miles on it.

So, how are yours holding up? I didn't buy a $57,000 truck to have the seats wrinkle after 750 miles of use....

I've had mine since Jan 4, and the GM @ the Dealership drove it for 3 months before that. Currently have 9100miles on the odo. Mine does show a little creasing, but nothing that I didn't expect or not appreciate. It's character for the seat in my eyes. It's by no means degradation.

BTW, you won't have much luck conditioning, as the seats are treated/coated leather.

It's leather.

I would challenge you to find a leather that doesn't have this characteristic. Just the nature of the beast.

Pictures would go a long way here too. How bad are you talking? Even after those few of miles, I would expect some wrinkles and light scars.

It's not bad wrinkling at all, but my concern is later down the road. I am looking for guys with higher mileage to see if they experienced any problems that I should be aware of. I am just super **** about my vehicles...

BTW, MCDavis how much was your console cover? I like that.

Also, I just noticed the driver's side doesn't have an A-pillar handle on the interior but the passenger side does. It would probably help having something to grab to get in and out to relieve stress on the seat bolsters.

Thanks. Look up Bdukes55 as he does the custom embroidery. I cannot share the price though as Brady and I worked on a package deal. You'll have to ask him. BTW, he does great work and is very easy to work with.

Hasn't been a driver's side grab handle since 09. Common complaint. I still grab the pillar though. Don't pull on the wheel to get in as many have reported having to replace the column later down the road.

Must be normal wear...my truck is almost 4 month's old and it show's some wrinkling on the driver's seat edge. My 250 lb azz sliding out must be the culprit!!

I have noticed a small dime-sized rough spot on the passenger seat of mine. Only have 1100 miles. Talked to dealership about it, so they took photos and submitted to Ford. Told me a couple days later that a Ford needed better pics and could not warranty it as is. I told the service writer I would take my own pics for submittal. I'm going to be pretty irate if they don't take care of this. $51k for a truck with blemished leather.......are you kidding me?

I've decide that once my leather craps out, I'm ordering a set from Katzkins. Yes, I do condition my seats regularly.

If possible,
Dont slide on and off the seat
dont condition without cleaning ,even if the seat looks clean.
Dont spray the perforated parts of the seat down with conditioner and work it in like I'v heard others talk about.
IMO ,that gets in the holes drys out and clogs the AC
spray it on the cloth and wipe it .
