Is the Platinum not really for Off-Road?

If you don't mind the usual off road beatings (dents and scratches) more power to you.
Personally, I wouldnt really want to put a new truck through that. Maybe buy a cheap beater truck for like a 1000 bucks

I selected the Platinum for a couple of reasons, most importantly, because I drive long distances for my work (3,000+ miles) and wanted the upgraded interior for comfort. While at my destination I may spend time off road working, the long drives are a major part. The FX4 was very nice, but the Platinum was only a few thousand more.
The Raptor would not make sense for my work given the long drives and the poor fuel economy with the 6.2L engine. It would run me thousands more every year and that didn't make sense. I went with the 5.0L because of the number of complaints with the EB here, and because I didn't like it when I test drove it.

Lots do it. It's a truck. Use it like one and wear the scars with pride
