Default Platinum Chrome body side molding??

https://www.f150forum.com/f38/show-o...-86359/index9/

Like in the photos in this thread, the chrome body side molding, has anyone ordered it from Ford and put on their truck? Any part numbers or price? Is there anything in the aftermarket that is similiar? I would like to install this on the 2011 Lariat we ordered. We live in a high wind area and shopping carts run a muck and smack you car in the parking lots.

Thanks for any help!

I would ask the guys at TASCA on this vendor thread. https://www.f150forum.com/f37/all-oe...er-cost-71683/
They are very helpful and have good prices. Have your vin# available. Good luck.

You could always check out www.sportwing.com They have some side moldings for F150's, painted and chrome. I purchased my mom a set for her Edge and they look great and fairly easy to install.

Better do some more looking at the Platinum trim because mine appears to be clipped thru a "cut out" in the body panels.

Yep, the Platinum trim has locating tabs which go through the body panels. Not that it couldn't be attached with trim tape. You might want to check with member BlackPlatBDS as he removed his trim from his truck.

I definately can not see spending $500 on the body side mouldings. The Platinum has them installed way to low to prevent door dings anyway.
The middle of the doors and along the side of these trucks are left wide open almost asking for door dings. Also the there is no reinforcment inside these doors. They look so thin the slightest bump could dent them. As a matter of fact you can have someone close the opposite door and watch the other door flex.

You could go with stick-on. Cheap enough to replace if it goes bad or chips.
