Default Platinum CB Install

Has anyone mounted a CB Radio in their Platinum? It seems to me that there is not very many good places. I have thought about on the dash where the center speaker and plastic phone holder thingy is (but I would have to build a box and ain't nobody got time for that), Inside the center console (this would work for function, but it wouldn't look cool), and on the headliner where the passenger sunscreen is (how would that work?!?). Also, it seems as though there are no unsealed holes running out of the cab I could use to route the antenna wire. Does this mean that I would have to drill a hole or is there in fact an access point? Thanks

I had mine mounted on the center dash tray area. Prior to that, I had one mounted on the center console. That truck had the flow through with console shifter. That spot was better, but I did drill holes through that console.

As for the antenna, I always use a magnetic mount, run the cable out a window.

I took out the overhead sunglasses holders and made a simply mount to give me a flat surface. For the coax you should have a cab vent on the driver side in between the bed and the back of the cab.

That over head looks great. Do you think it would work to move it over a bit? As dumb as this may sound, I actually store my sunglasses there As for the vent between the cab and the bed, do you have to unbolt and move the seat to access it? I looked around and I cant find a way to bend the seat forward. I am still contemplating the dash mount. I was thinking that I could remover the dash tray and build a cool box that would match the wood trim and stick it in there. Although it seems as though an over head mount would be a less expensive adventure.

I unbolted the driver side and loosened the bolts on the passenger side and moved the seat around so I could wiggle my arm back there to reach it. The vent is pretty low

I've got one of these radios I've been thinking about putting in my 2014 Limited. It's a converted 10 meter radio to work on 11 meters. The unit goes under the seat or in the console. The head unit is where the display and microphone is.
