My home depot didn't have it but the Lowes did. Lowes actually had a better variety of dip as well.

you sure it's AutoDip and not rustoluem's product? AutoDip is like 22 dollars a can and looks like this:

I tried some Autodip this weekend on my mirror caps. It goes on EXTREMELY thin compared to PlastiDip. They aren't kidding with their 8-10 coat recommendations. It also didn't look any better on the plastic surface. It is also more unforgiving if you're too close compared to PlastiDip and will make bubbles as a result.

The metallics are also literally a flake spray. So if your base is black and you spray gun metal, it will still be black with some gun metal flakes.

Yeah I noticed that as well, supposedly the new "formula" they're using will stick better (no clue when that change happened), but for all intents and purposes, I think it makes more sense to use plastidip as a base for autodip. Sticks very well if you do that, in my experiences. Never tried the metallics.

Also the stuff is very sensitive if you have anything like tire shine spots. I looked hard and didnt notice some residue on the wheels until i sprayed it, had the same little bubbles appear like you did...started cleaning everything down really well with goo-gone and soap before spraying now. Maybe you had some small specks of tire shine on the mirrors if you use that stuff.

I did try using it on another mirror cap that I left plastidip on for months now + gave it a new coat of dip.

I have a can of Gloss Black and Gun Metal. Knowing what I know now, I should get a can of Space Gray+use Gun Metal on top of it.

Might grab an old Ranger tire/rim from my dad to test it on more. I really don't want to commit to buying more cans unless I have a better idea how it works. And do it in the garage away from any kind of wind this time too!
