I've wanted to. There's a short video on YT of a guy that did it. Only one I can find. Skip to 58 seconds.

Default Removing plasti dip off paint

I'm thinking about plasti dipping the tailgate, just curious how hard it is to remove if I do not like?? Any advise or anyone had to remove theirs yet?

Not hard at all as long as you do 5+ coats.

If you do enough coats it will pull off like the paper backing of a decal. It's really clean and easy.

I tried to dip the TG Sunday. It was too hot outside and the dip was drying before it hit the TG. Caused a fuzzy texture and looked terrible. A edge dried to the tape as well and peeled but I didn't care at that point because the texture was junk.

I ripped it all off and from start to end the whole dipping process took maybe 30mins. Taping off the TG took the longest.

Re-did my mirror caps yesterday and put my emblems back on.

I'm thinking of PDing the caps on my tow mirrors Anthracite Grey (the closest to Sterling Grey Metallic I believe). I was just curious about using Glossifier. I've heard it makes the finish tacky and brittle. Thoughts on this? Does the Anthracite have enough Metallic in it to be used without Glossifier?

@ brianw0048 your mirror caps look stellar! When painting them did you remove them or leave them on the mirrors?

Thanks! I removed them from the truck and applied multiple coats of glossifier. My caps do feel tacky, but Plasti Dip is a rubber coating.

I did my grill emblem black and it feels tacky as well...no glossifier on it at all.
