Here you go smcox1. Over at a buddies and the rain stopped long enough for me to take a couple of pics. This is with the rear emblem smoked and then sprayed with matte clear plasti.
Sorry the truck a a bit dirty but like I said its been raining everyday or at least every other. Pretty sure I might of also mentioned this was done last summer and I have not noticed any fading. It beens beaten down by the sun, snow, road salt, and it still looks great.

How many cans of plastidip did that take?

Its tough to say man. My buddy does plasti dipping on the side. So he buys the plastidip by the gallon directly from dipyourcar and uses their electric spray gun. If you're going with the rattle can route id say 3 or 4 cans. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions and ill do my best to help or ask my buddy for you.

Just a guesstimate I'd say he's right at 2-4 cans. Good thing is Advance Auto and Home Depot carries the dip. So if you have too much you can return it easily.
It took 1 can per wheel with about 5-6 coats for my wheels. Remember the more coats the better. You don't want the dip thin as it will make it tougher to peel if you want to remove it.
Also, don't be too concerned about overspray. It easily comes of with a microfiber towel or doing clay bar or even better Nanoskin Autoscub.

I think I may give it a go this weekend after this thread. It's given me motivation after seeing all the pics
