Plasti Dipped tailgate?

I did my truck last summer and its still holing up nicely with no fading from what I can see.

The rear Ford emblem is now lightly tinted with nightshade (same stuff I use to smoke my taillights) and then sprayed with the matte clear plasti dip.

@AKAO1029 and anyone else that's done this already...did you just tape off the rest of the gate? How do you keep the dip from sticking to the tape when you pulled it off? Did you just use spray cans or do you have a sprayer?

Peel the tape off before the dip dries. If you wait until it dries it will peel the dip and make jagged edges

I would clay it. I'm not sure how the dip will hold up but I know for sure it will be almost impossible to tape off the area you don't want to dip as the tape won't stick at all to the wax

No zebra stripes when you did the tail gate? (common problem with using the cans on a larger surface)
