Electronic noise in dash cam while plugged into 110 outlet.
Just thought I would post this tip for anyone running a dash cam. Don't use the 110v outlet. I spent an hour or so chasing and rerunning/switching cable trying to find the culprit for some serious electronic interference audio problems. It sounded like horrible subwofers mounted in the trunk of a 90's honda civic. Plugged it into the 12V and poof my problem went away.
I have had the dash cam mounted for a month, finally got a long enough usb extension to run the wiring up through the headliner and down the B pillar and under the carpet to the back of the center console to use the 110v. I had wanted to do it this way so it was key on/off, not constant hot like the 12v outlets. I guess Ill try running it off one of the USB outlets in the center console, or maybe just hard wire it with an add a fuse.
