Ok here's a question or two for you guys...
1. How well can you see the paint through the plastic lens? I have tuxedo black (UH) touch up paint I could use for this but figure it would be a waste if you can't make out the metal flakes in the paint through the lens.
2. Is the gap large enough to fit a string of LEDs inside? I like the LED halo/silhouette look (see photo below). If I can fit some in there I would probably shoot some VHT Night Shades into the crevice and then stuff the LEDs in. I guess I'll have to remove the tails when I get home and see for myself how narrow this channel is.

I'll leave question #2 for someone that's more electrically inclined.

I used that new water based tremclad black.... what a waste of time, half of it peeled up. now I have to try and pull it and the RTV out of the crack... or get new lights... Im thinking my wifes cheap *** black acrylic craft paint would work way better.

Well, I will admit this but I skipped the silicone step. I figured I would do it after the paint but I was to inpatient to install once they were done.
So, now I have moisture in my tail lights. I need to remove, dry them out and silicone.
Just a heads up, it's worth it to do the silicone.
