well just finished the tailgate side with the baby syringe. What a mess, thing gets air bubbles in it and splats paint all over. I don't think it looks that great and wondering if i just ruined my brand new taillights There are areas that the paint wouldn't run into and I tried to use acrylic as over the top of my OEM touch up

The acrylic was to thick and wouldn't run at all. They are black but held at the right angle you can still see some clear in certain spots. Heres to hoping that the RTV will help block some of that light from showing and when on truck it won't be noticeable.

I'll take pics when I install this weekend, god i hope it doesn't look like garbage

Like a bulb syringe? We are using plastic syringes, like that have a needle on the end that you can insert into the tail light crevice. I can't imagine using a bulb syringe being helpful at all.

No this was plastic from pharmacy counter at wal mart. It was very hard to control flow coming out and the last bit the plunger would slam down causing paint to splatter out like a wet baby diaper.

I sealed them up might have been a bit OCD on how I thought they should look, we'll see when I get them on the truck

I don't think the white & silver trucks need this mod at all.

I agree with this. I was going to do it but in the end decided not to.

Just got my HD/Raptor tails in and got some touch up paint from the dealer last night. I figured I'd stop at the local craft store after work and get some of that multi purpose acrylic paint as well just in case. Might try to do this tomorrow if I can find enough time to. I just hope I don't mess up my new tails somehow!

It does make a difference. Subtle, but it's there. For a few bucks worth of paint and ease of removal/reinstall, it's a worthy mod.
