Ok thanks. Has anybody used the Ford touch up paint to do theirs? I can get that pretty cheap at Ford and could pick it up Monday morning.

Exactly. On a white or silver truck, it's a fail. It makes the tail light look too small, by creating a visual gap between the sheet metal, and the unpainted lens.

Idk, I've seen it on a few silver and grey ones and I think it looks good.

I thought of doing this when my black taillights come in. Good to know there's a lot of useful info here.

I used a Testor's model paint pen. I'm not sure how durable it will prove to be.

Well, I tackled this mod today along with re-plastidiping my rear emblem and throwing on some Moody Blue decals today. All I can say for those of you who are looking to paint your taillight edges is clear your schedule for the rest of the day and be PATIENT!

It took me a while to just paint the edges. I ended up using Ford's touch up paint in black. I also applied RTV black silicone after the paint was done drying. Letting the silicone set for the night and will be putting on the taillights tomorrow morning. They look sweet tho!

It would look just as nice. Possibly even better.

Or you could paint the trim white to match.

I always thought the process involved disassembling the tail light.. might do that soon.
