Yeah, and that's easier said than done from my experience. The glue is clear and the crack is small...

thanks for all the hints and helps from this thread... brand new set of hd tail lights out of the box, testers model paint, a 2 cc syringe and 16 gauge by 1.5 inch needles did an awesome job farm supply store or vet for the needles... I would grab 4 of each

I'm planning to do this as soon as the weather is favorable, but what I really want to do is open them up ptm the inside oxford white, smoke the red lenses and then paint the outer edge black.

So my HD headlight and tail light sets are coming in tomorrow, thought I would paint the tail light edges of the new ones before I put them on. I have needles, syringes, various brushes, etc.
BUT I cannot find any decent paint. I have a big bottle of cheap acrylic water based paint and black RTV to seal it all up. But is this cheap paint worth using? There are no hobby stores around, so I looked at the auto parts store and they didn't even have anything that's not in an aerosol can, so I went with the cheap craft paint from Walmart.
Anybody have any other suggestions as to where to look for better paint, or know of any common other paint that's better? Appreciate any advice, and this thread rocks.

I still suggest this paint. Finesse pin stripe paint. It's like $6. But it's super high quality, and you get allot of paint.

Mine are fading. As far as I can tell not many have had this issue so I can only assume it's my paint but I used water based acrylic like many others. Next go round I will seal them with silicone and problem solved. Anyone had to redo them? I'd like to find a way to clear the old paint completely out for a fresh start...
Worst comes to worse a new pair goes for about 130 so not a huge deal if I can't clear them out properly.
