Alright well we'll see. I may resolve this myself anyway. But they guy who owns the shop is a friend of mine so maybe he pulls some strings. May I ask why you wouldn't?

Too much risk of screwing up your light, then having to foot the bill for a new one

A painter a body shop could paint it from the outside like they do every other set of taillights, I had a pair done on my older truck. But I'm pretty sure they would not paint it from the inside lip like we are doing.

Doing that is not very common. Only painted 1 set of taillights in my 15 year career. And never painted only the edge. I painted mine on the inside lip like everyone else in this thread. I used pin stripe paint, and injected it with an epoxy syringe. I didn't use a brush like some are doing..

I tried todo this & quickly figured out using a brush is a very uneffiencient way. The brush is a waste of time & doesnt get into the corners with ease. I just ended up pouring rigourous ammounts inside the lip around 1/4 of the edge & then letting it pour down the inside slowly, ended up coming out perfect for me in about 15min a light this way, and got full solid coverage in one shot. Thanks for the idea looks good on the raptor lights

Thanks to all for the information on painting the edges. I used duplicolor black gloss and sealed with RTV black. The paint was applied with a syringe and moved with the cap brush. Very pleased with the finish project.

So I'm thinking the first thing to do is look at my lights to determine whether I have too much glue to make it worth the effort. I don't want to run into what Wolf did! But damn this looks good!
