I was thinking the same thing but with a Red truck do I do black or Redd? I guess I can use black tape and see how it looks then maybe some red tape on the other side to compare. Anybody done it on red yet?

it's crazy how something so small and seemingly insignificant like that can completely change the look of the tail lights

good writeup!

I'm going to try the black tape idea to see how it looks on my sterling gray, if it's no good I might buy the SG touch up paint from ford and use it..

Either way this is a great low cost/high yield mod in my book! Mine stick out to me pretty badly. In fact for the first few days, I thought this was the misting or water vapor in the tail lights everyone was talking about! They just kind of look misty around the edges like that on mine.

That mod looks sharp. I like the chrome inlays of the tail lights but hate that white edge, especially with the Sterling Grey paint. I will give this a shot this weekend. Thanks for the write up!

I hope it holds up to washing, weather and the Sun's UV.
