Paint issue -warranty?
I have a 2014 Sterling Grey Supercrew. I bought it in September of 2014 and has 11k miles on it right now.
We are headed to Florida for the holidays so I decided to put a coat of Turtle Wax Ice on the front end and the hood to make it easier to remove road grim, bugs, etc when I get back home.
While waxing, I noticed an area on the passenger side about the size of your palm that is circular in shape that doesn't match the rest of the paint. It is definitely under the clear. I was in the garage under flourescent lights so I moved it into the sunlight and yep, still noticeable. Not a paint expert so no idea what would cause this - too light spray, ??
The only way to fix in my opinion is repainting the hood. How difficult is it to match the sterling grey? Would the whole hood have to be repainted?
This should be covered under warranty - thoughts?

Don't Touch the Trim
Same problem, I decided the best thing to do was do nothing. Definitely a factory flaw that they would probably fix under warranty, I'd say it was a "defect in material or workmanship) covered under the 36 month bumper to bumper warranty.
The pictures show the spot pretty well, I noticed it the first time I washed it. I actually have what appear to be three or four spots like that. It's like they touched it up at the factory before the final clear coat.

I say take it in. Obviously under warranty. No way that anyone cause that, especially under the clear. Simple fix. Sterling Gray is not that hard to match. Any competent painter can. Especially if it's a Ford body shop, then they paint that color all the time. Blend in that area, and clear the whole hood.
